An obstetric console is defined by two things the brochure rarely leads with: the endovaginal probe and the fetal biometry package licensed on that specific unit. The catalogue lists 349 models from 36 brands offered for this work. 153 carry a current offer with a stated price: half are asked between $5,000 and $16,600, with $8,900 in the middle. One request reaches verified suppliers.

Gynaecology and obstetrics ask different things from the same console. Gynaecological work leans on the endovaginal probe and on clean near-field resolution; obstetric follow-up leans on the convex probe, the fetal biometry tables and, when growth is in question, spectral and colour Doppler with the umbilical and uterine presets enabled. Both live on one machine only when the probes and the software licences are present on the unit actually being offered.
That is where two listings of the same model stop being comparable. Ask for the probe list with part numbers, ask which measurement packages are active on that serial number, and ask whether 3D/4D rendering is licensed or merely installed. A console sold without the endovaginal probe is cheaper because it is less machine, not because the supplier is more generous.
Most of what is offered here is second-hand, so the checks that decide the purchase are the ones a photo does not show: console hours, the condition of each probe lens and cable, the state of the drive, and what the supplier warrants if the system fails in the first months. GE is the widest represented brand here, ahead of Samsung, Mindray, Esaote, Philips and Siemens; the systems that come up most often are the GE Voluson E8 and the GE Voluson E10. Specifications shown are typical for the model line as suppliers describe it, not the datasheet of one unit.
The band shown on this page is read from the 153 models that carry a current offer with a stated price. The figures come from offers open at the last catalogue refresh, not from a price list. The probe set, the licensed measurement packages and the condition of the console move the final number substantially.
Gynaecological scanning depends on an endovaginal probe and good near-field detail; obstetric follow-up depends on a convex probe, the fetal biometry tables and Doppler with obstetric presets. One console covers both only if those probes and licences are enabled on that unit, so we have the supplier confirm each item in writing.
For diagnostic work, rarely: growth, presentation and flow are assessed in 2D with Doppler. 3D/4D matters when the clinic sells keepsake imaging or does detailed facial and skeletal assessment. Check whether the rendering is licensed on the unit offered, because the software option is frequently absent on a second-hand console.
GE is the widest represented, ahead of Samsung, Mindray, Esaote, Philips and Siemens, with 36 brands present in total. A widely circulated line is usually also the one with the deepest supply of replacement probes, which matters more over five years than the purchase price.
